Princeton, NJ--Americans satisfied with how things are going in the country had fallen to 20% at the beginning of June, 26% in early May. Seventy-eight percent of Americans currently satisfied with the nation, according to the 9-12 June Gallup Poll.
A reduction of six percent of Americans satisfied with the leadership of the country reflects 10 points drop in Gallup index of economic confidence last month, falling from-25 daily Gallup tracking for 2-8 may-35 for the week ending June 12 more generally, shifts in Americans meet countries closely parallel changes in the index of economic confidence Gallup for the last decade, that economic views were one of the key factors of Americans increasingly look at the leadership of the country.
Both of these measures have been quite flat since late 2009, with the exception of minor monthly highs and lows. After the fall of 2009 with 36% in August to 25% in December, meeting the United States an average of 22% in 2010 and 21% so far in 2011.
Economy and jobs remain priority Americans
Despite the decline in the United States and economic confidence last month Americans answer the question, "the most important issue" Gallup have not changed significantly. Just over one third in June, 36% say the economy is the biggest problem facing the country, 24 percent cited unemployment or jobs, and 11% refers to the federal budget deficit or debt. All of them are at a point or two from may, results.
A little more Americans now mention health care--at 9%, up from 5% in May. However, the 3% reference to gas or fuel prices were reduced by more than half.
One of the reasons why these results may have changed in the last month is that 72 per cent, the share of Americans naming at least one economic issue as the most important problem the nation near the ceiling, Gallup recorded since 1991, when Gallup began compiling a "clean" economic and non-economic indicators. The main exception is a few months after the economic crisis in Wall Street in 2008 and 2009, when the figure was closer to 80%, reaching 86% in February 2009.
The bottom line
The negative attitude of the United States economy--in both their responses to the top-of-mind when naming the most important problems of the country and their economic ratings-Americans continue to serve as a damper on overall satisfaction with the country now recording a meager 20%. The slight increase in economic confidence sometimes improved customer satisfaction on some points, as happened in May. However, the opposite is true.
The recession has officially ended in June 2009. Nevertheless, economic growth continues to spray and with labour and do not reach any strong positive impetus to the housing markets, does not have Americans satisfied with the leadership of the country.
