Medical costs key to when and where American investors retirement

Princeton, NJ--seventy-two per cent of United States investors say nonretired that health expenditure is an important determining factor in retirement, according to the latest Wells Fargo/Gallup investor and retirement index optimism survey. These Americans rank health above five other factors tested in the survey.

In particular, the proportion of investors, who said that the price of energy will have a significant impact on the timing of their retirement has risen 12 percentage points from February to may.

2-11 may, the survey of investors--defined as having $ 10000 or more investment assets--represent the top-third of Americans in terms of investment assets.

Health care for the surface as the main problem in which investors will retire
Sixty per cent of nonretired investors say, located near good medical facilities will be a major factor in determining where they will live after retirement. This is consistent with 54% of current retirees who say health care is a major determining from where they decided to retire. Among the other four evaluation factors nonretirees ranked low State and/or local real estate taxes in the second, at 52%. However, another factor almost as important as health care, with regard to current retirees.

Nonretired value investors place their homes
A survey of investors may asked nonretirees and retired a number of additional issues of housing and retirement. Key findings include:

The majority of American investors have their house (93%) and most believe that now is worth more than when they bought it (75%). most nonretired Americans have mortgage (80%), and 19% have paid off their mortgages nonretired. Eighty-six per cent of investors believe that this is "very" or "somewhat important" that they have their mortgage paid off when they retire. 58% of investors believe their homes nonretired investment assets to help finance their retirement. 42% of them say their homes will help fund their retirementby giving them a place to live and 39% say that this is "an asset to sell to add pension funds."About one in three nonretired investors (31%) they say that they would consider hiring throughout their retirement.

The Effects Of
As Americans live longer, cost and quality of health care available to them is becoming increasingly important, resulting in strong tie-in between health care and retirement.

From a political point of view these relationships tend to reinforce the notion that a proposal for changing the health system is whether health care reform in General and of new proposals for change in the future--Medicare are "third hand American politics". In fact the political heat can now be hotter than ever before, but this may make it even more important to address these issues. Such proposals are cause for serious concern, not only those who have retired, but for all Americans, including when and where they will retire.

Value place investors access to health care, retirement may mean that the quality of health care is important to them when they consider where to retire, as well as the importance of good local schools for many parents when deciding where to live. Communities that want to attract retirees might want to consider once again focus on the quality and accessibility of community health as a key marketing points. It can also be important for nonretired investors who choose to work with an eye on possible retirement--especially as the nation closer to the virtual economy in which workers have great flexibility in which they work.

The close connection between health and housing are likely to garner more attention as the baby boomers, when and where to retire, especially when the United States economy and housing begin to experience real economic recovery.
